Welding or using screws?
We really like the idea of using screws because you don’t need a team on site that has all the certificates and diplomas to do the job. In a legal standpoint a kindergarten kid could build you the house. Like an Ikea furniture.
Not that the screws are cheaper than welding. But … it is 🙂
You don’t need to deal with people in demand. Certificates and fancy diplomas that cost your wallet time and especially money. Legally you can’t even weld your own house. You need certificates. No huge space for errors or risks with screws. Timelines are easier to calculate. Cheaper … on demand, “limitless” workmanship. Not perfect but flawless finishes.
The metal bars are near each other. (not on top as it should) Even if the positioning between bars is “totally wrong” it will hold the structure easily.
You will notice (within the design) … the metal bars are almost always near each … not on top of each other (as it should). Yes it’s on purpose. It helps with holding the frames … you’ll see it later. Next page.
This house it’s super lightweight and we can get away with this so called “error” !!! We build like this on purpose. Bars are not within each other’s continuation and such.
You might decide what method to use. What works in your case better: welding or screws. I might go with the screws. Almost always.
Notice within this assembly how easy you can level and position the things within their place. Childs play with “mm” precision.
Welding ruins the bars in a way. Especially they are thin. The welding bars are more expensive for thin metal. You need to pay a really good welder. That cost a lot. And it’s a slow process. Really slow. Than you need to clean it. While welding … all of the zinc cover comes down from the surface. That’s a pain from the start.
Why this way? Metal and screws are consistent. No error surprises or inconstancy. You know exactly what you pay for and what you get. Other materials and workmanship around it its nothing like that.
Cutting a metal bar, drilling a hole and using a screw its nothing than the safest thing. I mean related to quality and timeline. And we need less of an expertise here. Like an Ikea furniture. We throw out the complicated, inconsistent parts.
